Well, I can’t say Ron was with me as I’d hoped. During some of the more challenging moments, I was able to conjure him up lumbering steadily beside me. But mostly, I felt his absence. Still, I’m grateful that yet again he inspired me to challenge myself. Just like when we were kids. He studied Spanish, so I did too. He wrote a novel, and so did I. I’m glad to remember the things we did together, even though it hurts to know he’s not with me anymore.
